Coming back for a second round, Darrell Porter and Tre Stringz, try their hand at mainstream pop. In some instances, the song works (the production, if tweaked, could be radio ready), in others, the song falls flat (this song would work better with a group), but this still cannot take anything away from these two talented artists. The problem that these two have merely created is that they are taking yesterday's music and trying to update it to the mid-millennium’s style of music. This track would have faired much better during 2001-2003, but as it stands, the tune now sounds dated.

Aside from this, the Darrell that many began to take notice of from the first (Spotlight) seems a little lost. Instead of focusing himself in one area, it sounds as if he's wondering through an endless amount of trees trying to search for one glimpse of the sun. And while Porter finds himself with the lyrics and background vocals, it’s not enough to carry the actual song. Sadly, if released today, this offering would inevitably be a miss.

I'm not understanding hitmaker...what happened???? that last song that Darrell did was sooooooooo good :( If I would have heard this first, I probably would never listen to him again. i hope he does better cause it would be a waste for someone that looks like him not to make it in the world
