Twista ft. Trey Songz - Girl Tonite


People will hate to admit it, but R. Kelly has influenced a legion of young R&B male artists so much that there is no distinguishable difference between any of them. What Trey Songz has managed to do is actually be better than most (i.e. Omarion, Marques Houston, Mario) while taking heed to Kelly's teaching. This song sounds like it could have been a track from the late 90's. The beat is crazy, the hook is bonkers and the vocals are incredibly strong. The cushion of this record sounds like its more of Songz track than Twista's. And though surprisingly not as pop-influenced as 'Slow Jams,' the work sounds like it could be well on its way to being Twista's second biggest hit if not his best in the R&B market. I smell #1 at CHR Rhythmic.
